ADI COMPASSO DORO AWARD TO AK/25 DESIGN PAIK SUN KIM FOR ABOUTWATER BOFFI-FANTINI COLLECTION
We are happy and proud to inform you that AK/25, designed by Paik Sun Kim for Aboutwater Boffi-Fantini collection, has been awarded the ADI Compasso dOro by the international jury of the XXVI ADI Compasso dOro.
The Award Ceremony was held in Milan today, 9 September 2020, at the headquarters of the ADI Design Museum in Via Ceresio 7.
AK/25 has been awarded the prestigious prize, with the following reasoning of the jury: “for its solid structure, a severe, elegant and unexpected project, the result of the constructive dialogue between two Italian companies and an oriental designer”.
For Boffi and Fantini the honour of this award recognises the value of the strategic alliance between the two brands, both leaders in their own international industries.
Together they have created “Aboutwater”, a sophisticated collection of high-end sanitaryware designed by the most famous designers in the world.
This award also identifies the talent of Paik Sun Kim, a Korean architect and designer with great sensitivity, who unfortunately died prematurely in 2017. AK/25, as the other products awarded with Compasso dOro and Honorable Mention, become part of the ADI Compasso dOro Collection, which has been declared of "exceptional artistic and historical interest" by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities since 2004.
